Karina Alexanyan

Research Advisor, Disruptive Technologies and Digital Cities Program

Dr. Karina Alexanyan is a social scientist and communications professional with 15+ years of experience directing research & program initiatives at the intersection of social science, information technology, media, and education. Dr. Alexanyan has worked with Stanford, Harvard, and Columbia Universities, as well as social impact organizations focused on responsible technology such as Partnership on AI and All Tech is Human. She is on the Board of the Me2B Alliance, a non profit developing standards for safe and respectful technology interactions and serves as an Advisor to the AI Education Project, a ed-tech start up bringing AI education to underserved communities. Dr. Alexanyan has taught courses in communication and media studies at NYU and Stanford, and has published her academic research in international journals and books. She holds a PhD in Communication from Columbia University.
